From initial consultation through to operation and after care, this hospital has been truly amazing. Everyone I came into contact with on the day of my operation made me feel so welcome and relaxed which really helped to diminish my fears. I can’t thank them enough for their professionalism which was delivered with such warmth and generosity. Thank you.

I was full of trepidation facing cataract surgery on 10/09/21, but my apprehension dissipated once I entered the building.The staff were amazing; friendly and approachable and available to answer any questions or concerns. I was totally blown away when my surgeon advised me he operates with music playing, what would I like to hear. When I walked into the operating theatre it was like entering the Albert Hall to hear an Elgar concert. The care and consideration given by all staff on duty that day,especially my surgeon was exemplary. The discharge nurse, Dawn was wonderful and explained exactly what I was to expect post surgery and I was given very clear instructions on how to proceed including advice on administering eye drops. I was then able to contact a close friend who is scheduled for a similar operation to allay her fears. Overall, I cannot speak highly enough of this Tetbury Hospital.

I felt cared for all the way through, I'd never had a general anaesthetic before, but the staff gave helpful advice on what to bring, what to expect on the day. Once there on the day I felt very comfortable and reassured, I was kept up to date and everything explained thoroughly to me. Before and after the op I felt completely cared for and not rushed about anything .

The pre op appointment could have been more thorough. It did not include discussion/information about the replacement lens (cataract surgery). The letter sent before the operation itself was in some ways quite vague I.e. suggesting bringing a dressing gown and slippers for a one hour thirty minute cataract operation. I suspect it was a coverall letter for several different procedures. However these issues were minor in comparison to the care I received which was excellent. The staff were friendly and approachable and the whole process was smooth. I only had to wait 6 months from the pre op appointment until the actual operation which in these Covid constrained times I was very impressed with. On the day of the operation everything was explained clearly with back up written information to take home. The premises themselves were spacious and airy which was reassuring.

The service and care provided by Ian Comaish and the team of nurses in the Opthalmology dept was second to none. Everything was explained from start to finish with a high degree of empathy. Although I was a little apprehensive at the thought of an eye operation I was out at ease from the moment I entered the hospital until I left. I would recommend anyone to have an eye operation at Tetbuty hospital given the choice.

I was in for my first cataract operation and was treated with fantastic care and compassion. Every step of the process was explained clearly and even though it’s only post op day 2, the signs are very positive that it was a success! Super staff, consultant and hospital. Highly recommended!

My visit was well covid planned and phoned 1 min early to come in. Greeted politely and respect throughout with a touch of humour. My minor hand op was done very successfully by the surgeon who made me feel very welcome and almost part of the team. Made time to explain the procedure to the student nurse who from what I could see will have a very successful career. All done and dusted with no hanging around. Well done and thankyou to all the nurses staff and the surgeon.
